Cora Jean Jackman's Obituary
Cora “Jean” Jackman of Dallas, Texas was born in Alabama on June 19, 1943 to Mary Earline Cochran and Chester Hunt, and raised by her step-father Marvin Cochran all of whom preceded her in death. Those who knew her best know she was a lively and passionate mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, wife, and friend. She would fight the devil himself for those she cared about. She was always stubborn, sometimes silly, forever loving, and quick to call someone out when they were wrong – which was a lot, because she was always right. She was a Jean of all trades. A hairdresser in the early years, real estate agent, author, and publisher at one point, and administrative assistant before she retired. Of course, her most important job was unpaid and thankless, but the one she treasured most – being a mother, and always a friend, to her children and grandchildren. There was nothing that she tried to tackle that she couldn’t do. She was known as the gadget queen and had every thingamajig and doohickey that came out, before anyone else! She loved her family fiercely and fought this battle so hard for them. She was preceded in death by her husbands (in order) Joseph Liddell, Patrick Stepanick, and George Jackman. She is survived by her children Joseph (Charlie Brown) Liddell, William (Keeko) Liddell and his wife Kimberly Liddell, and Kathleen (Kathy) Galt, her children by choice Shelley Michalk, John Schutzmaier, Debra Pickens, Kris Schutzmaier, as well as their mother, Lee Schutzmaier, that played such a huge role in helping raise all these kids, her sister Glenda Land and her husband Jimmy Land, her brothers James Willy and Chester Lee Hunt, her grandchildren Joseph Liddell, Timothy Liddell, Amanda Liddell, Kasie Dahn, Cheyenne Liddell, Kaeylynn Liddell, Kayla Liddell, Kiley Liddell, Brianna Freed, Zyrinka Maclam, and Christopher Maclam. She is also survived by many great grandchildren, numerous cousins, many of whom were like brothers and sisters to her, as well as many other family members and special friends she considered to be family. She loved Jesus, and although she cherished every minute on Earth with us, we know she rejoiced when she saw the face of God and was reunited with so many that were waiting with open arms. Her absence leaves a massive hole in this world and in the hearts of all who loved her. Nothing would please her more than to see all that she loved be there to celebrate her life and journey on this Earth, and to help send her on her final journey while she waits with open arms for us all to be together again someday. Her service will be at Restland Memorial Park at 13005 S. Greenville Avenue in Dallas Texas on Saturday, April 6th. The visitation will be from 1 pm to 3 pm with the graveside service to immediately follow. Please join us and per her request, wear something bright and cheerful to celebrate the occasion. Her favorite colors were purples, corals, teals, and greens. We welcome flowers for the service or donations in her name to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
