Cynthia Ruth Hilling, 72 of Garland, TX was called home to be with our Lord on Saturday, December 3, 2022. She will be sincerely missed by her loving family, devoted friends, and the wonderful individuals who knew and loved her.
Cindy was born in Dallas, Texas on December 19, 1949, to Dorothy Ann Mash and Jack Eugene Roberts, Sr.
Cindy was clear-sighted about death, torn between leaving her daughter and her grandchildren and joining the love of her life, Clyde (better known by his family given nickname 'Butch'). They met at a 'Honkey-Tonk' (in her words) in April of 1987, danced all night, united in marriage four months later on August 21, 1987, in Rockwall, Texas, and never parted until his death in November of 2004. She worked as a Purchasing Manager in the automotive paint and software industries but her greatest passion in life was her family. She often said that motherhood was her life, her joy, her purpose and greatest achievement. She loved her daughter, grandsons, great-grandsons, and family deeply. She fought against COPD and cancer over the past two years for them and did so with grace, integrity, and courage.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ernest Lee Mash and Mattie Norine Garrison; parents, Jack Eugene Roberts and Dorothy Ann Rascoe; husband, Clyde Kelley Hilling, sister-in-law, Audrey Jean Roberts; nephew, Justin Valentine Garcia.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include her loving daughter, Tonya Lynn Thorpe; her cherished grandson's, Jeremy Noah Gonzales, Joshua Dylan Gonzales and his beautiful wife, Alexandra Lynn Gonzales; her sweet great-grandson's, Jayden Dylan Gonzales and Julian Alexander Gonzales; her older sister, Mary Elizabeth Casey; her younger brother, Jack Eugene Roberts Jr; her oldest niece, Shannon Denise Garcia and her children Vincent and Matthew Garcia; her youngest niece, Kristine Michelle Sihachack and her husband James Sihachack and their children, James, Jacob, and Jordan Sihachack; her only nephew, Edward Brent Tuely and his children, Denise, Fate, and Devin Brown. Along with countless lifelong friends and relatives.
The lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his names’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me;Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. - Psalm 23
