Dale Henry Ursprung's Obituary
Dale Henry Ursprung of Dallas, Texas passed away on August 14, 2022. He was born on July 5, 1939, in Niagara Falls, New York to George and Madeline Ursprung. Growing up he learned to love the game of golf from his parents. He even won an invitational tournament with a friend at the Niagara Frontier CC.
Dale attended the University of Rochester where he earned a business degree and met his wife of 59 years, Linda Lewis Ursprung. They were married on July 6, 1963. He worked his entire career doing credit management, initially for Kodak before spending the next 40+ years in Dallas in the aviation business, retiring from GE Aviation at the age of 73.
Dale was blessed to live 83 years and he lived life with joy. He loved his family, golf, fishing, reading, singing and being involved in his church. He went on many family vacations with his wife, children and grandchildren. He loved playing golf with friends and family. He fished for hours on end in Galveston. He sang for many decades, first in the choir at Prestonwood Baptist Church and most recently in the Highland Springs Chorus. Dale was a founding member of Prestonwood and served as a deacon for many years.
Dale is survived by his wife, Eleanor Linda Ursprung; daughter Cynthia and her husband Bob Lindsey; daughter Tricia and her husband, Greg Freeman; son Robert and his wife, Susie. Grandchildren Will, Andrew, Trevor, Matthew, Meredith, Collier and Cate; other beloved family members and countless friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Rafiki Foundation, a ministry Dale learned about during his BSF years. Rafiki’s mission is to spread God’s word in Africa by caring for & educating orphans, providing bible studies & classical Christian education among other things. Rafikifoundation.org
