Daniel Patrick Bynum's Obituary
Daniel Patrick Bynum, age 33, breathed his last, late Friday night, June 19, 2020 at home in Garland, Texas, surrounded by his loved ones.
Daniel was born August 7, 1986 in Springfield, Missouri. He grew up in Austin, Texas and graduated from John B. Connally High School in Pflugerville and Abilene Christian University, with a degree in Art. Much can be said about his life but of first importance, he became a follower of Christ as a young man, then later he became a husband and father. He was also an athlete, enjoyed outdoor pursuits, was a talented artist and a creative chef in the kitchen. Those who knew him enjoyed his subtle humor and welcomed sitting down to a delicious meal he made; we also enjoyed hearing him play guitar and sing, along with Ashton, and seeing his tenderness and playfulness with his girls, Reid and Ellis. We could say so much more about what we will miss of Daniel but what will live on is the steadfast posture of his heart and the genuine love he had for his family; what he passes on to others, especially his daughters, is his abiding faith in Jesus and God's forgiving grace through Him, the reason for our confidence.
Daniel worked as Creative Director at Encompass Health in Dallas. His family would like to thank the employees and leadership of Encompass Health, whom he counted as some of his dearest friends, for their love and support to Daniel and his family. The magnitude of their care, especially during his illness cannot be overstated. We are also thankful for their closest of friends and church family of the Northway church in Dallas who have prayed, given love, support and blessed Daniel and Ashton more than we can express. Ashton's sister's in Christ have been an ever-present help to her and the family. Daniel also leaves behind a brotherhood of friends, who blessed his life, and were also blessed by him.
Daniel is survived by his wife and the love of his life, Ashton Lloyd Bynum, and his daughters, Reid Endsley Bynum, age 4, and Ellis Lynne Bynum, age 3. Other survivors include his parents, Don and Tricia Bynum of Austin, Texas; brothers Jesse Bynum and Aaron Bynum both of Austin, Texas and sister Jenny Bailey of Douglas, Wyoming and her husband Will Bailey; Also, his in-laws David and Shelby Lloyd of Cleburne, Texas, brother-in-law Logan Lloyd of Cleburne, Texas and great in-laws Norma and Jon Temple of Cleburne, Texas. Others include a niece, Seren Bailey and nephews Aidan Bailey and Cian Bailey, all of Douglas, Wyoming, as well as aunts, uncles and cousins.
Daniel expressed his confidence and faith in God, which for him was expressed by the book of Isaiah 41:10.
“Fear not, for I am with you;
be not dismayed, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
To Daniel this meant to “Trust in God, always. Even in the most difficult and darkest hours, the love and hope that comes through faith in God will carry you. When you claim Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you have an eternal hope and joy that nothing and no one can take away.”
We are confident that Daniel is alive now, more than ever, as he lives eternally.
