David Meyer Hanger's Obituary
HANGER, DAVID MEYER Our wonderful father, David Meyer Hanger of Plano, Texas, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at the age of 86. Dave was born in Los Angeles, California on July 9, 1927. He attended UCLA and then graduated with a degree in petroleum engineering from the University of California at Berkeley. Following service in the United States Navy, he went to work for Richfield Oil Company. After assignments in Venezuela, Louisiana, California and South Texas, he and his wife settled in Richardson, Texas in 1978. After retiring, they enjoyed traveling, playing cards with friends, and Dave volunteering as an Ambassador at DFW airport. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, Rita, he is survived by sons Stephen Hanger (Linda) of Wichita Falls, Texas; Larry Hanger (Lisa) of Suwanee, Georgia; Howard Hanger (Kris) of Dallas; as well as his grandchildren and great-grandchild whom he loved so very much. He is also survived by his niece and nephews (Susie, Lindsey and Jay Freeman). Special thanks go to his caregiver, Mattie Maguire, who took wonderful care of both Mom and Dad during their final years. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Restland Memorial Chapel.
