David Martin Moses' Obituary
MOSES, DAVID MARTIN born July 11, 1922 to Robert Lewis Moses and Mary Caroline Little Moses in San Antonio, Texas. He made his journey to Heaven on January 19, 2014 peacefully in Murphy, Texas with family by his side. David grew up in Pearsall, Texas and graduated from Pearsall High in 1940. He went on to graduate from Schreiner Junior College and obtained his law degree from Baylor University. In addition, he proudly served his country during World War II as a US Marine. David raised three children with his first wife, Ethel Beach, of 22 years. On March 10, 1973 he married the love of his life, Margaret Ann Crews. With their union he gained three more adult children and together their family grew to over 35 grandchildren, including great and great-great grandchildren. His legacy of love and service will live on through all of his family. David was a dedicated servant of the Methodist faith, with a membership spanning over four decades at Munger Place United Methodist before moving his membership to Ridgewood Park United Methodist. Over twenty years in service with the Wilkinson Center and as a Gideon for over 30 years well as many other areas and organizations – after retiring in 1985 from Home Insurance Company. David is survived by his wife, Margaret Ann Moses of Dallas, TX; brothers: Bob Moses of Austin, TX, Andy Moses and wife, Jane of New Mexico; children / Stepchildren: Dennis Malcolm Moses of Farmersville, TX, Caroline Germaine Moses of Royse City, TX, Joan Iris Moses of Dallas, TX, Brenda Selby of Garland, TX, Melvin Crews and wife, Debbie of Garland, TX, Suzie Ballard and husband, Jack of Canton, TX; Grandchildren: Allen Carl Autrey, Brian David Harold Autrey and wife, Debbie, Keri Lorilei Nunn Askew and husband, Robert, Rhonda Sparks and husband, Robert Gary Norris and wife Cindy, Wendell Norris and wife, Kim, Kevin Crews and wife, Marci, Carrie Solomon and husband, Glynn, Christie Autry and husband, Monroe, Stacie Sartors and husband, Chris; great grandchildren: Cameron Anthony Nunn, Elizabeth Lindsay Miranda, Lorilei Alexis Miranda, Danielle Lynn Autrey , Garrett Joseph Autrey , Emily Braelyn Autrey , Curtis Gregory Askew, Casey Joe Askew, Cory Norris and wife, Katherine Jessie Norris, Hannah Norris, Danielle Reed and husband, Garrett , Tim Sparks and wife, Rafeala, Stephanie Orehouse and husband, Justin, Erin Moseley and husband, Nate, Brooke Sparks, Clay Crews, Garett Crews, Mitchell Solomon, Cole Solomon, Chase Sartors, Chloe Sartors, Great-Great Grandchildren: William Robert Sparks, Teaghan Morehouse, Tilman Morehous, and one expected in July 2014. Many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Restland Funeral Home.
