David Thompson's Obituary
James David Thompson, of Pottsboro, lost his battle with lung cancer on December 31, 2015 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison at the age of 72. David was born September 8, 1943 in Richmond, Virginia to George Hubert and Alma Lois (Shipman) Thompson. He and Marcia Lynn Thomason were married on March 6, 1965 in Farmers Branch, Texas. He loved to fish, enjoyed reading, following sports and news, was a Master Gardener who enjoyed growing a garden, tending to his fig tree, raising worms and sharing his knowledge of all of these. He is survived by his wife Marcia of 50 years; son, Michael Thompson and wife Rachele of Topeka, Kansas; grandchildren, Evelynn, William, Henry and Ayla who knew him as Gramps; two brothers and a sister. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Geoffrey Thompson. The visitation for David Thompson will be from 2:00 to 4:00 PM Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Restland Funeral Home. The service for David will be held on Monday, January 4, 2016 at 3:00 PM in The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Burial to follow services at Restland Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243. In lieu of flowers, you may donate to your favorite charity.
