Delores Jean Thomas' Obituary
Delores Jean Thomas was born at home on October 26, 1940, in Pilot Grove, Texas to parents Charles and Ellena Layman. She went home to be with her Lord Jesus on February 27, 2019, after several years of illness.Delores graduated from Caddo Mills High School and was married during her senior year to James Wilson Thomas on February 1, 1958. A few weeks after they married, James was drafted and joined the Marine Corps. She initially lived with her in-laws on their large dairy farm in Springhill, Texas before joining James in Oceanside, California where he was stationed. During the course of their 58 years of marriage, Delores and James lived in Aubrey, Sherman, Denton; and, Dallas. They had one daughter, Patricia Denise, and one grandson, Nathaniel Joel, whom Delores dearly loved. Denise and Nathan loved her deeply and will miss her greatly.Delores is survived by her daughter Patricia Denise with whom she lived, grandson Nathaniel Joel, her sister Barbara, and several nieces and nephews. Because of her faith in Jesus Christ, Delores rests in peace, assured of eternal life with Him.Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 5, 2019, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at 12:00 PM in the Abbey Chapel at Restland Funeral Home located at 13005 Greenville Ave Dallas, Texas 75243.
