Demarcus Eugene "Shag" Harris

Demarcus Eugene “Shag” Harris, 47, passed away on November 26, 2025. He was born on April 26, 1978, and throughout his life he was known for his big heart, his humor, and the unwavering love he carried for his family.
Shag shared a special, lifelong bond with his great-grandmother, Florine Bell, whom he dearly loved and deeply cherished. Her presence remained a guiding light in his life.
He was a proud and devoted father to his sons: Davontay, Demarcus Jr., Jacoby, Jaden, Taylor, and Kevin. His children were his world, and he never missed a moment to show how much they meant to him.
Shag is also survived by his two aunts, Laquita Ann and Pam, who held important places in his life, as well as his cousins Jarric, Stennis Jr., and Angel. His family ties were strong, and he valued each relationship with all his heart.
He enjoyed the simple pleasures that brought him joy, especially watching sports. Whether cheering on his favorite teams or enjoying the excitement of the game with loved ones, sports were a source of comfort and happiness for him.
His cremation will be handled by Restland Funeral Homes.
