Denny DeWayne Woodlee's Obituary
Denny DeWayne Woodlee, 70, of Garland, TX, peacefully passed away on November 15, 2022, at home surrounded by loved ones, after a difficult battle with Alzheimer’s.
Denny was born on May 5, 1952, to Jewell (Jack) and Louise Woodlee in Dallas, TX. Denny graduated from Douglas High School and then went on to serve four years in the United States Air Force as a Vehicle Operator. Denny was stationed at Kadena Air Base in Okinawa, Japan and spoke about this time in his life with much passion. While in Okinawa, Denny became a Christian and from that point on was very passionate about Christ and leading others towards their salvation.
On July 4, 1975, he met Lois Flatt and the two married October 3, 1975 in Dallas, TX. Denny and Lois went on to have six children: Jacob, Morgan, Victoria, Ethen, Alesia, and Kelsey. Denny was in the sales industry for over 30 years and retired in 2018 once Alzheimer’s set in and he was unable to continue working.
Denny was a member of Lakeshore Church where he enjoyed worship and fellowship. He loved to go for long car rides and take in the beautiful scenic views. He enjoyed fishing, camping, hiking, running, and golfing. He loved music and you would often find him listening to his favorite music and singing along. His nine grandchildren were his pride and joy.
Denny was predeceased by his father, Jewell (Jack) Harvey Woodlee and mother, Louise Lucy Woodlee. Denny is survived by his wife of 47 years, Lois Lavone Woodlee, son Jacob Woodlee and his wife Carlie, daughter Morgan Wylie and her husband Chris, daughter Victoria Woodlee, son Ethen Woodlee and his wife Shara, daughter Alesia Woodlee, daughter Kelsey Woodlee and her fiancé Jake Schultz. Other survivors include grandchildren Cash, Jaxon, and Noah Woodlee, Brody Woodlee Wylie, Makar, Matvey, and Varvara Woodlee, Oliver Woodlee, and Charli Carter Woodlee. Also, brothers David Woodlee, Scott Woodlee, and Marty Woodlee, and sisters, Frieda Adley, Debbie Hopfauf, and Teresa Stockard.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at Restland Wildwood Chapel, located at 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas 75243. Burial will follow with full military honors.
