Donald Fred Stearns' Obituary
Donald Fred Stearns passed away March 14, 2016 after long illness. He was surrounded by the love of his family. Don was born on February 13, 1933 to Kathryn Swift-Stearns and Donald Stearns in Stamford, Texas. He graduated from Stamford High School. He attended the University of Texas and later graduated from North Texas University. Don served in the United Stated Air Force prior to graduating from North Texas. On February 8, 1956, Don married the love of his life, Nancy Lyons. They celebrated 59 years of marriage this year. They had three children, Don, Bill, and Laura. Don was a loving husband and father. He devoted his life to his family and God. Don worked for Warner-Lambert for 41 years. He enjoyed his retirement. He spent time with his family and friends. He was involved in his church. Don was a Stephen’s Minster in his church. Don was proceeded in death by his father, Donald Stearns and his mother, Kathryn Tipton and his step-father, Jay Tipton. Don is survived by his wife, Nancy Stearns, his son, Donald Stearns (Peggy), his son, William, his daughter, Laura Herbst (Fred). Don also leaves his grandchildren, Christopher Stearns (Devyn), Callie Stearns, Rochelle Herbst-Willingham (Britain), Garrett Herbst (Heather), and Alyssa Herbst. He will lie in state at Restland Funeral Home from 12- 6 PM on Friday, March 25, 2016 for any visitors. Service will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at 10 AM at Restland Wildwood Chapel, all are invited. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
