Donald Ray Hice's Obituary
Donald Ray Hice, 64, was born November 6, 1951, in Beaumont, TX, and graduated to Heaven Sept. 17, 2016, in Carrollton, TX. He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Lewis Hice; mother, Mabel Lucille Helms Hice; brother, Franklin Hice; and, sister, Janette Hice. Don is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Julie; son, Damon and daughter-in-law, Amanda of Stephenville, TX; and granddaughter, Taylor and grandson, Jackson, in addition to many other family members and countless friends. He lived a full and robust life, focused on a love for his Lord, his family and his friends. Supremely generous, he always was willing to give of himself, his time, his wisdom, or anything else anyone needed. Whatever he put his mind to, he succeeded in and thoroughly enjoyed: electronics, ham radio, a 30-year career at Texas Instruments, a professional photography business, a licensed massage therapist, a bachelor of arts degree in business at Le Tourneau University, and most of all a faithful servant of the Lord and devoted son, husband, father, grandpa and friend. He especially enjoyed spending time at the cabin on the ranch in Stephenville, TX, that he and Julie owned with Damon, Amanda and their grandkids. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 21, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Restland Funeral Home. The service will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at Prestonwood Baptist Church, 6801 West Park Blvd., Plano, TX 75093. Burial will take place directly following the funeral service at Restland Memorial Park, Garden of Wisdom. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted into Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243. If you prefer, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or a charity of your choice.
