My thoughts and prayers are for you and your family at this time. May God bless you.
We love you mema we will miss you.(Psalms 23;1The Lord is my shepherd;)
I had the privelege of knowing Aunt Doris for only a short time, but I will cherish all the precious memories we had together. My favorites were hearing all the family stories and of course all the card playing, especially Skip-Bo!, Tripoley with the Greenlees', and Spades with Bubba and MamMaw. Aunt Doris always claimed her winning was due to LUCK, but we all knew it was SKILL! She will be truly missed by all.
So many memories of Aunt Doris, and all of them warm and loving and funny. Her sense of humor, her generous spirit…all wonderful legacies for her family and friends.
I remember several times going and picking up Aunt Doris on my way home from work when she was going to spend the weekend with mammaw. I would ask her if she was scared of my driving, and she would say no, but the grip on the doorhandle told me otherwise. We would talk about everything and just laugh which would always make my long drive home alot more fun. I loved her because me and her were alot alike when it came down to telling people like it is. Becky, Cortney, Kristen, & everyone else…I know we will all miss her, but we need to not be selfish and let all the angels up in heaven know that she is just as good as they are and even better. Maybe she can even strike up a game of skip-bo!!!!
Always looked forward to seeing Aunt Doris. She was solid and pleasant. Always felt her love for me. Sad that a part of my childhood is gone but I will never forget the sleepovers and adventures at her house. Love you Aunt Doris! Melvin
Aunt Doris was more than an (great) Aunt, she was a more like my 2nd Mom. I remember the Cowboys games on Sundays, cooking out and her let the Comboys know when they weren't doing good!:) She always had an open ear if you needed to talk and a wonderful heart! Some of my Mother's most wonderful times were spent with Aunt Doris. They were like sisters. She was the sweerest thing and truly and Angel on Earth! You gave love and kindest to so many lives. LOVE YOU!
No one but us will ever know how special our relationship was. I will treasure it always. I love you MORE!
Your family is in ours prayers. God is pleased to have your Mom home.
Aunt Doris, you always had your house open to all family and friends. You were a wonderful hostess, and everyone always left with a smile. I have fond memories playing in your front yard while you and the women of the family played cards, drank coffee, and talked about old times. I am sure you and Meemaw are now living it up in heaven, playing cards and praising God ?? You will be missed greatly here, but I know you are in a much better place!
