Dorothy Jean Brownlow's Obituary
Born in Dallas, Texas on November 11, 1929, Dorothy Jean Brownlow devoted her life to God and her family, leaving a legacy of faith, love, and creativity. On February 20, 2025, she peacefully entered eternal rest.
A graduate of Sunset High School in 1947, Dorothy embraced a life filled with joy and compassion. Her kind, patient, and creative spirit touched all who knew her. She was a loving wife to her late husband, William U. Brownlow, and a devoted mother to her children: Billy Howard Jones, Jr., Dottie Tucker (husband Mark), and Julieanne Goforth (husband Tim).
Dorothy's passions reflected her vibrant faith and zest for life. She loved writing, poetry, journalling, and the arts. She delighted in square-dancing and horseback riding. A devotee of fitness icon Jack LaLanne, she embraced a healthy lifestyle throughout her years. Her creativity found expression in her painting and writing, and she cherished the silver screen—once even being mistaken for Karolyn Grimes (“Zuzu Bailey”) of It's a Wonderful Life fame.
Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. Dorothy loved to be a part of the Card Ministry in her church and would even start one if they didn't have one already, spreading love and encouragement within her faith community.
She is preceded in death by her parents, M. F. and Mary Park, her siblings Jim Park, Marilyn Blakeney, Jane Garrard, and her beloved husband, William U. Brownlow.
Dorothy leaves behind a legacy of love in her children, grandchildren Angela Fernandez (husband Bryan), Lauren Tucker, Jared Tucker, Cody Goforth (wife Kelsey), and Jake Goforth; and great-grandchildren Haley Medina, Hadyn Medina, Kristen Weaver, Randall Weaver, Olivia Tucker, and Lainey Goforth; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Her life was a testament to unwavering faith and devotion. As we remember Dorothy, we take comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the presence of the Lord.
