Dorothy Herron's Obituary
Dorothy Herron – loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and surrogate mother to all who knew her, departed this life at the age of 95. She married Chester Herron in 1941 and had just celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary in May. Born in 1921, Dorothy experienced life as few other people ever will. She survived the ravages of World War 2 while Chester fought for our country. She bore 3 beautiful daughters who still adore her to this day. This wonderful lady leaves an emptiness in all the lives she has touched and will forever be sorely missed. Dorothy served in numerous capacities with several civic organizations such as DAV, American Legion, Shriners, etc. and never sought positions but was always the person that got the job done. She never met a stranger or a person she didn’t like. Her life as wife, mother and mother-in-law surpasses almost any imaginable requisites of today. Born in San Antonio, Texas, she and Chester and family moved to Garland, Texas in 1965 where she and Chester still live in the same house. She is survived by Chester and her three daughters – Barbara Stephens of San Juan, Texas, — Carole Lee of Poetry, Texas and Linda Whitesitt of Garland Texas, 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. Family will receive friends on Thursday, July 14, 2016 from 6:00PM – 8:00PM at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be held Friday, July 15, 2016 at 11:00AM in The Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
