Dorothy Jean Mathis' Obituary
Dorothy Jean Mathis was of Granbury, Texas and passed away on July 21, 2017, in Garland, Texas of congestive heart failure. She was born on September 14, 1930, to John & Dorothy O’Bryant in Mineral Wells, Texas. She married Benny Mathis in Fort Worth, Texas. Dorothy was a General Manager of five storage warehouse for twenty-five years. Dorothy, loved her grandkids, loved to travel, hunt, read, dance, music fish and all types of adventure. She also liked to visit casinos. She is survived by her daughter, Dolores Landgraf of Garland, Texas; granddaughter , Lori Jean and husband James Smith; great- grandchildren, James Bradley and wife, Joy Smith of Forney , Texas , Kellea Jean Smith , Kenneth and wife, Monica Smith of Allen , Texas; great – great – grandson, Zachary Smith , Jordan Smith and Jaiz Smith of Mesquite , Texas and James Timothy Smith of Forney, Texas. Dorothy is preceded in death by her loving husband, Benny Mathis; granddaughter Kellea Freeman; great- great granddaughter, Lily Smith; companion, Tommy Gose; Brother Jerry O’Bryant of Abilene, sister Johnnie Castro, niece Sandra Spain. The Family will receive friends on Sunday, July 23, 2017, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Graveside service to celebrate Dorothy’s life will be held on Monday, July 24, 207 at 11:00 AM in The Valley View Garden at Restland Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
