Mrs. Dorothy Sparks Lunday, age 88, passed away at 2:30am on Thursday November 25, 2021 in Rockwall, Texas. She was born on June 24, 1933 in to her loving parents, James Corley Sparks and Ruby England Sparks in Commerce, Texas. Dorothy married Douglas Odell Lunday on June 24, 1950 in Dallas, Texas. She was a secretary at Dr. Pepper and Doctor’s Hospital. She put her career on hold to be a stay-at-home mom while her sons were young.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Odell, on October 29, 2018, and by her great grandson, Micaiah Tardy, on September 8, 2012. She is survived by her 2 sons, Eric Lunday and wife Kathy of Rowlett, TX, Jeff Lunday and wife Jody of Heath, TX....5 grandchildren, Lauren Tardy and her husband Jordan of Thailand, Ty Lunday and wife Shelby of Boise, Idaho, Karly Rodriguez and husband Ty of Boise, Idaho, Haley Lunday of Houston, TX, Travis Lunday of Heath, TX...4 great-grandchildren, Ephraim Tardy, Jadon Tardy, Eden Tardy, and Lily Tardy of Thailand.
Funeral Service for Mrs. Dorothy S. Lunday will be Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.
