Dorothy Sue Stanley's Obituary
Dorothy Sue Stanley, known as Sue to those who loved her danced into heaven on June 23, 2015. Born June 4, 1929 to Cleo and Jesse (Dock) Hefley at the end of The Great Depression. After graduating from Bowie High School in Bowie, TX she joined her older brother Mac Hefley to find work in Dallas. She found a job at Frito Lay and made friends easily. She soon found the love of her life, a hard working dark haired Elvis Presley looking Texan named Robert Stanley. They married in 1952 and celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary last week. In 1959 her mother-in-law invited her to a special church service where an invitation was given to make Jesus Christ the Lord of her Life. That day she encountered a personal relationship with Jesus and never looked back. For over 55 years her faith was an anchor in their home and she shared His love to many. Her husband, Robert and daughter, Vicki Farina remained by her side until her final moments. She enjoyed one grandson, Tory Farina and two great-grandchildren Olivia and Lewis Farina. She is preceded in death by her son, Gregory Stanley, in 2003. Survived by her Brother, Jimmy Hefley. She was optimistic, cheerful, and a patient encourager who always had a twinkle in her eye. She was loved by many due to her sweet nature and genuine interest in the lives of those around her. Family will receive friends on Thursday June 25, 2015 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home located at 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas TX 75243. Visitation and funeral will be held on June 26, 2015 at The Oaks Fellowship Church located at 777 S. Interstate 35 Service Road in Red Oak, Texas 75154. Family will receive friends for visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM and funeral service immediately following at 11:00 AM.
