Douglas Donald Darnell's Obituary
Douglas Donald “Don” Darnell Loving husband, dad, Poppy and dear friend passed on to join his Heavenly Father on January 1, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. Don was born on July 20, 1934 in DeKalb, Texas to Woodrow Crew and Ophie Ruth Darnell. He married Jo-Lynn Denton on January 21, 1961 in Vivian, LA. His mother, father, stepmother Madene Miller Darnell, his brother Owen Darnell, and his granddaughter Holly Michelle Darnell predeceased Don in death. He is survived by his wife, his son Douglas Wayne Darnell, his daughters Penny Ann Renfro (Marshall) and Dana Marie Stiles (John), his grandchildren, Sarah Lynn Darnell, Emily Ann Turner, Margaret Ann Renfro, Ross Owen Renfro, John Wildy Stiles, Douglas Allen Stiles, eight great grandchildren, two sisters Linda Lohre and Mary Elliott and numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Don will be at 02:00 PM on Monday, January 5, 2015 at Lakeside Baptist Church, 9150 Garland Road, Dallas 75218, with visitation onehour prior. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75238 at Restland Road. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in his name to White Rock Center of Hope, 10021 Garland Road, Dallas 75218 or Bible Study Fellowship, 19001 Huebner Road, San Antonio, TX 78258.
