E. J. Hooker's Obituary
E.J. Hooker, of Rowlett Texas, age 94, entered into eternal rest on April 15, 2019.He was born July, 27, 1924 in Hayti, MO to Andrew J. and Ina C.(Sheppard) Hooker.E.J. is survived by his Daughter, Hollie (Hooker) Epperson, Step-Daughters, Gayle Wiseman and husband Blake, Kathy Keys and husband Roxie, Step-Son James F. Brown, wife Joyce and niece Ina (Bitty) Majka;3 Grandchildren and 1 Great-Granddaughter14 Step-Grandchildren23 Step-Grandchildren1 Great-Great GrandsonE.J. was an auto mechanic for over 50 years and was owner/operator of the Philips 66 Gas Station and Auto Repair in Bland, MO from 1969 to 1982, also serving on the Bland Volunteer Fire Department. He was married to his 1st wife Marie for 42 years before moving to the Dallas area in the early 1980’s where met “the love of his life”, Wanda M. Brown, whom he married on December 23, 1988. After retirement, he managed several car washes in the Plano/Richardson area , cut and sold firewood and later served as a school crossing guard. One of the many things E.J. will be remembered for was his very unique and creative imagination, he would “think up” and move in to action building some gadget, device or contraption that wouldmeet the need he built it for perfectly.E.J. is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 30 years, Wanda M. Hooker (Brown); 1st wife Marie E. Hooker; brothers Henry Paul, Johnie and Earvin Hooker; sister Eula M. (Hooker)Long , Step Son Michael E. Brown, step granddaughter, Jennifer Brown and Son-in-Law Jeffrey A. Epperson.A graveside celebration of life service will be held at Restland Funeral Home and CemeteryFriday, April 26, 2019 at 3 p.m.
