Edgar Howard Shahan's Obituary
SHAHAN, EDGAR HOWARD age 92, passed away May 6, 2010, at Sunrise Senior Living of Plano. He was born in Corinth, Texas on October 15, 1917, the son of Edgar and Timmie Shahan. He was formerly married to Eva Lee Jeter Shah and is survived by a son, Howard L. Shahan and daughter-in law, Jean Shahan of Plano, three Grandchildren: Robert Shahan of Flower Mound, Gina Shahan Killion of Plano, Brian Shahan of Plano and six Great Grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, J.H. “Blackie” Shahan and many nieces and nephews. He entered the Army in 1942, serving as Quartermaster in Air Transport Command. He was honorably discharged and returned to Dallas where he started Shahan Painting Company in 1946. His son, Howard joined him in the business in 1965 and ran the Company until 2009, when his Grandson Brian took over the operations. Eddie was a long time member of Cochran Chapel United Methodist Church and a Lifetime member of the Hella Shrine. Visitation will be at Restland Funeral Home Sunday evening, May 9, 2010 from 6-8pm. Services will be held 3:00pm, Monday May 10, 2010 at Restland Wildwood Chapel. Restland is located at 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243 972-238-7111. The family has requested donations to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org in lieu of flowers.
