I was sorry to hear about cousin Edith's passing. The last time I saw her was at the gathering for my grandmother's (Dovie Malone) funeral, which somehow doesn't seem all that long ago, even though it now is. Last year I found the obituary notice for Edith and Lorene's mother in a newspaper archive; she had died at a very young age, leaving the girls without their mother. I sent a copy of the article along to Gary Cook. It's a reminder, though, of those we love who can just suddenly disappear through death. We are left with trace memories of their presence, an echo in our hearts.
