Edna Irene Braun's Obituary
Braun, Edna Irene Smith of Richardson, Texas went to her Heavenly home on January 20, 2014. She was born on September 6, 1912 in South Charleston, Ohio to John A and Lucy Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters; six brothers; great grandchild, Whitney; and husband of 56 years, Walter A Braun. Edna is survived by her daughters, Wanda I. Tittle and husband, Tom of Panama City, Florida, Wanita E. Swayne and husband, Paul of Richardson, Texas; grandchildren, Vickie and Steve; six great grandchildren; sister, Virgie of Springfield, Ohio and many nieces and nephews. Most of her life she lived in the Springfield, Ohio area where she was a practical nurse assisting with at home births and surgeries. She was married in 1938 to Walter A. Braun and had been married for 56 years before God called Walter home on April 26, 1995. Edna was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Springfield until she moved to Texas in 1993, where she was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church and New Day Seniors. In 2001 she was a member of LWML and Widows Mite of Messiah Lutheran Church. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Messiah Lutheran Church in Plano, Texas. She will be missed by her family and friends, but our peace comes from knowing we will all be together again in heaven. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church.
