Edward Samuel Arnold Jr.'s Obituary
Edward Samuel Arnold Jr., loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother went home to be with our Lord and Savior Wednesday morning December 24, 2014 in Garland, Texas. Eddie was born June 17, 1934 in Dallas, Texas, to Lillie Myrtle Franklin and Edward Samuel Arnold, Sr. He is preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers, and two sisters. Eddie is survived by his wife of 47 years, Betty Sue Watterson of Garland, sons Bobby Bryan of Denton, Randy Bryan and his wife Patty of Rowlett. Three grandchildren, Kristin Ferrel and her husband Jason of Rowlett, Adam Bryan of Rowlett, and Sarah Watson and her husband Zach of Rowlett. One great grandson, Benjamin Watson of Rowlett. Two sisters, Filena Hargrave of Caddo Mills and her husband Glenn, and Zellena Jay of Elgin and her husband Ron. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Eddie was a long time resident of Kaufman, Tx where he owned his own TV Shop before marrying Betty and moving to Garland, Texas. He retired from Montgomery Wards in 1976 after losing his leg to cancer but never losing his faith in God or his sense of humor. Once asked by a nurse how tall he was he said he was 5 foot 6 on the right side and 5 foot 3 on the left side. Eddie loved to laugh and enjoyed making other people laugh. Although born with Spina Bifida, he never let that stop him from doing the things he wanted. He never thought of himself as handicapped, but only mobility challenged. And if you knew Eddie, he loved a good challenge as he always won winning the biggest challenge in the end. Doctors told his mother that he would not live past four years of age and he lived to be 80. The visitation for Eddie will be from 06:00 to 08:00 PM on Monday, December 29, 2014 at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75238. The funeral service for Eddie will be at 02:30 PM on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 in The Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75238 at Restland Road.
