Edward Tate Candler's Obituary
CANDLER, EDWARD TATE age 57, passed away at his home in Carrollton, Texas on August 20, 2013. Born May 13, 1956 in Hobbs, New Mexico, he was a life long resident of Dallas, Texas. He was most proud of his three educational degrees and he continued his educational endeavors his whole life. He was employed for over 20 years as an IT professional to support his lifelong love of music. Working musically as “Eddie Tate”, he loved playing his keyboards, writing and recording his own music as well as listening to diverse music from Bach to Bon Jovi. He also shared his love of music through teaching. Ed was a proud member of the Freemasons fraternal organization. He served in the Air Force and was on active reserves from 1984-1990. He will be honored by the Air Force at his service and will be proudly laid to rest with other veterans. With his love of animals from childhood, Ed supported many individuals and organizations for the health and welfare of animals and for the planet he called his home: “Earth, Texas.” Survivors include his mother, Loy Candler; brother, Chuck Candler and his wife, Kathy, and their daughter, Jordan; sister, Bobbie Candler and her children, Erica, Lauren and Bobby Tate Buyalos; his aunts, Nell Candler and Barbara Candler. Ed was predeceased by his beloved father, Bobby Tate Candler. He will be buried near his father at Restland in Dallas, Texas. Services will be held at Restland, August 26, 2013 at 10 AM at Restland Wildwood Chapel. Friends and family are welcomed at the visitation at Restland Funeral Home on Sunday, August 25, 2013 from 4-6 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you contribute to a cause of your choice.
