Mrs. Eileen Mildred Davis' Obituary
DAVIS, EILEEN MILDRED “SAMMIE” died peacefully in her sleep at her home in Hideaway, Texas on September 9, 2007. Eileen, known as Sammie to her old friends and better known as Mommo to her family, was born September 24, 1912 in Crews (Runnels Co.) Texas to William T. Brown and Mathilda Rohde Brown. In 1921, at the age of 9, her family moved to Dallas where she attended Dallas Public Schools, graduating from Sunset High School in 1930. She later attended the College of Industrial Arts (Texas Women’s University) in Denton. She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Jack H. Davis. In 1997 she moved to Hideaway Lake to be near her daughter, Carole Keith and family. She was a homemaker devoted to her family. Mommo was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was always ready for a game of any kind. She was a life long member of the Methodist church with her current membership being at the First United Methodist Church of Lindale. She is survived by a son, Jack R. Davis and wife Janis of Dallas; a daughter, Carole E. Keith and husband Aubrey of Hideaway; 4 grandchildren, John A. Davis of Dallas, Brian A. Keith of Hideaway, Carrie E. Provinsal of Hideaway, and Jennifer G. Davis of Colorado Springs, CO; and 2 great grandchildren, Tyler and George Provinsal of Hideaway. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Salvation Army or to your charity of choice. The family will receive visitors at Restland Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 11, 2007 from 6-8 PM. Services will be 12:30 PM, Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at Restland Wildwood Chapel with interment following at Laurel Land Memorial Park, Dallas.
