Ellen Nashief's Obituary
Ellen Nashief, 58, died on Saturday, July 4th 2009, at the residence of her daughter Souad Nashief. The memorial service and burial will take place on Friday July 17th, 2009 at Restland Funeral Home, in Dallas, Texas. Ellen Nashief was born on June 2nd, 1951 in Kumasi, Ghana to Grace Ama Yentumi and Abdu Fares, who are both deceased. She was married to Elias George Nashief in Kumasi, Ghana for over twenty years, who passed away on March 3rd, 2000. She lived in Tamale during her early childhood, and settled in Kumasi for the remainder of her life. She stayed in the US in 1999 to 2000 and then in 2007 to 2009 to be with her daughter Souad Nashief. Her high school education was completed in Kumasi at Kumasi Academy Secondary School. She was a homemaker as well as the directoress of a family business. She loved gardening and cooking. She was a strong and devoted Christian and mother. She donated to several charities and orphanages annually including Kumasi Children’s Home and SOS. Ellen had a flare for telling stories. She liked to give advice and all the advice she gave was good. She is preceded in death by her husband Elias George Nashief and her parents Grace Ama Yentumi and Abdu Fares. She is survived by: Children: Sharbel Nashief, Souad Nashief, Marcelle Mary Nashief Grandchild: Erin Marie Nashief Siblings: Josephine Fares Rose Boadi, Patrick Fares Half Siblings: Inocensia Fares, Mary Fares, Jacob Fares Donations may be made to the Kumasi Childrens Home and SOS Children’s Village.
