Emmett Ray Hamby's Obituary
HAMBY, EMMETT RAY Ray Hamby was born on June 7, 1919 in El Reno, OK passed away April 3, 2007 in Dallas, TX surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Martha Hamby; his daughter, Judy Bressinck and husband Phillip; his son, Jim Hamby and wife Laura; and his daughter Jane Hamby. He is the proud grandfather of Allison Bressinck Curran, Lindsey Bressinck Crouch, Stephen Hamby, and Christa Hamby. Ray served in the Army Medical Corp in WWII, graduated from Baylor Dental School in 1946, practiced dentistry in Oak cliff and Lancaster for close to forty years, and spent his spare time cattle ranching in Blooming Grove, Texas. He enjoyed golf, horseracing, racquetball, professional sports, and spending time with his family. He was a former member of Oak Cliff Christian, Glen Oaks Methodist, and The Methodist Church of Waxahachie. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor, gift of talk, loving his wife and his giving heart. A funeral service will be held at Highland Park United Methodist Church, Cox Chapel, 3300 Mockingbird Ln., Dallas on Friday, April 6, 2007 at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at Restland Memorial Cemetery, Greenville Avenue, Dallas at 2:00 PM. The family requests memorials be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association/ ALS Division, 12750 Merit Dr., Ste. 1220, Dallas, TX 75251.
