Evelyn Claudette Stamper's Obituary
Evelyn Claudette Stamper was born on September 15, 1939, in Dallas, Texas, to Lula and Frank Riggs, and passed away peacefully on July 11, 2025. She had a big heart, felt deeply, and loved making people smile.
She worked for Skillerns and Zales for 15 years before becoming a full-time homemaker. She found joy in dining out (always with "extre" jalapeños and tomatoes), thrifting for hidden treasures, playing bingo, and crafting.
She was a caring and loving mother to her daughter, Cathy Teel; her son, Calvin Stamper Jr. (Tom) and his spouse, Lori Stamper; and her son, David Stamper and his spouse, Natalie Picard. She was a wonderful and proud grandmother to Candi Dodd, Casey Teel, Calvin Stamper III, Ashley Jones, Vanessa Gibson, and David Stamper Jr.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lula and Frank Riggs; her beloved husband of 48 years, Calvin Stamper Sr.; her granddaughter, Mandi Dodd; her brother, Frank Riggs Jr.; and her sisters Mary Alice McDonald, Norma Fox, Betty Frazier, Bobbie Holder, Marguerite Hughes, Karen Waxler, Linda White, and Judy Smith. She is survived by her brother, Carl Riggs; sister, Sharon Bumpus; brother, Duane Riggs; sister, Brenda Riggs; and many loving nieces and nephews.
