Felix Gonzales' Obituary
Felix Gonzales was born on April 18,1930 to Felix & Apolinar Gonzales in Strawn, Texas. He entered into rest on November 30,2022, in Dallas, Texas at the age of 92.
Felix served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. PIEDMONT. He married the love of his life, Herminia Estrada, on December 23, 1950 & was later blessed with 6 wonderful daughters.
Felix enjoyed a wonderful trip with his wife Herminia to the Holy Land of Israel. His hobbies were gardening, cooking & baking; especially making his award-winning menudo. There was never a Christmas without his tamales with everybody helping or you didn't get any. He was also a member of the Lions Club.
Felix is survived by his wife of 71 years, Herminia E. Gonzales; daughters Gilda Gonzales Burleson (Greg); Patricia Ann Fischer (Donald); Brenda Gonzales Tafur (Adolfo); Rebecca Elsa Sotelo (Gilbert); Norma Elisa Gonzales Sosa & Sandra Gonzales Sanchez (Mario); 11 grandchildren & 6 great grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters Connie Oswald & Mary Toler (Mike); brothers Marcelino Gonzales, Rich Gonzales (Cecelia) & Ray Gonzales (Kathleen); brothers-in-law Joe Estrada & Albert Estrada; numerous cousins, nephews & nieces & his beloved cat Pierre.
Felix was preceded in death by his parents Felix & Apolinar Gonzales, 3 brothers & 3 sisters.
Felix's final resting place will be Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas. He will be sincerely missed by his loving family, devoted friends, & all the wonderful individuals who knew & loved him.
Visitation will be on December 20,2022, at Restland Funeral Home from 4pm to 8pm. The funeral service will be on December 21, 2022, at 10:30am at Restland Wildwood Chapel followed by interment at DFW National Cemetery at 1:00pm.
Officiant: Father Elijiah Thomson from Saint Monica Catholic Church
Pallbearers: Greg Burleson, Donald Fischer, Adolfo Tafur, Gilbert Sotelo, Jade Sotelo & Mario Sanchez.
