Flo moved to Santa Fe from Dallas in 2008 to be near her daughter, Patsy Hutchison. Flo was born on June 20, 1913 as the youngest of ten children to Maggie Lloyd Hedleston and Robert Webb Hedleston in Coleman, Texas. After her father’s death, Flo moved to Dallas with her mother and made her life in Dallas until recently relocating to Santa Fe. Flo married Bill Pinson and they had a single child, Patsy. Flo and Bill remained married until Bill’s untimely death in 1959. Upon Bill’s passing, Flo went on to support herself for twenty years as a very successful businesswoman. Upon her retirement, Flo went on several cruises and made two around-the-world trips. She loved to see the world and meet new people. Flo was very active in the lives of her family and she was regularly present at all family functions including the recent activities of her great grandchildren. Flo’s light shined the brightest when she was in the presence of family. Flo had a passion for life as all that knew her will attest. Flo was a throwback to simpler times in which women presented themselves with a dignified femininity and carried themselves with grace and aplomb. Flo was a lifelong member of Highland Park United Methodist Church where she worked for many years as a volunteer in the church library. Flo also volunteered at the Biblical Arts Center until it burned several years ago. Active, elegant, and witty until the end, Flo Pinson will be greatly missed by all those who knew her. Flo is survived by daughter, Patsy Hutchison and son-in-law Bill Hutchison of Santa Fe; niece Nancy and George Theriot of Dallas; niece Nita Koop of Lubbock; and nephew Bill and Pam Hedleston of San Bernardino, CA. She is also survived by granddaughter Gail Hutchison Smith and her husband Bruce Smith of San Antonio and children John, Joe, Charlie, and Chad; grandson William Hutchison, Jr. and wife Suzanne Hutchison of Dallas and children Sarah, Elizabeth, Will, and Emily and Brian White; granddaughter Katie Hutchison Gordon and husband Scott Gordon of Santa Fe and children Chris and Catherine; and grandson Chuck Hutchison and wife Sandy Hutchison and children Chas and Carley of Dallas. The family also appreciates the compassion and support provided by Presbyterian Medical Service Hospice of Santa Fe. But most of all, the family appreciates the loving support provided by Flo’s primary caregivers Darlene Archuleto and Delores Maes of Santa Fe. Darlene and Delores truly made a difference in Flo’s life and they continued to provide Flo with wonderful and loving care all the way to the end.
