Foster J. Owens' Obituary
Foster J. Owens Jr. left this world to be with our Lord on Wednesday, May 29th in San Antonio, Texas. Foster was born on October 16, 1925 in Cedar Hill, Texas. He was the youngest of eight children andhe was the last surviving sibling. His parents were Foster and Serena Owens and he was raised primarily in Cleburne, Texas. He joined the war effort in 1943 and enlisted in the Navy. After the war, he went to work for the railroad which provided his livelihood for most of his career. He worked for various lines including the Katy, ATSF and the CR&P. He married in 1950 to Ruth Marie Bute and they had three children; John Foster, Dale Edwin, and Cynthia Marie. Foster and Ruth lived for a several years in San Antonio and moved to Dallas in the early ‘60’s. Ruth and Foster retired to Log Cabin Estates in the mid ‘80’s and Ruth died in 1993. Dad was a kind, gentle and mostly soft-spoken man that people naturally liked. He loved all his grandchildren and they always lit up a big smile from him. Grand Papa as he was known will truly be missed. We love you Dad.
