Frances Olive Price's Obituary
Price, Frances Olive ~ A descendant of the founding family of Carrollton and a great-granddaughter of Alexander Wilson Perry, died peacefully on Friday morning, Feb. 11, 2011 at the age of 96 years. Frances Olive Gravley was born of Sept. 10, 1914, the fourth of nine children of William Arthur Gravley and Pearl Perry. She was a 1932 graduate of the old Carrollton High School and married Samuel B. (Red) Price on June 25, 1936 in Dallas. Frances was a long time, faithful member of First Baptist Church, Carrollton, where she was active in the church’s music program for many years. She was employed by Bennie Naylor, D.D.S. for over twenty years before her retirement. Mrs. Price was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brothers, Thurman and Lee Gravley, and her sisters, Beatrice Spence, Dorothy Nichol and Evelyn Jobe. Survivors include two sons, Paul R. Price and Sam D. Price; five grandchildren, David Price, Richard Price, Sam Price, Jr., Scott Price, Sunni Bullock; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Wilton Gravley, Joe Gravley, and Milburn Gravley. Services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock, Feb. 15, 2011 at First Baptist Church, Carrollton. The family will receive friends one hour preceding the service. Dr. Wayne L. Allen and Dr. Brent Taylor will preside. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers are her brothers, Wilton, Joe, and Milburn, Bill French, Benny Kohn, and Bill Lovas. It is suggested that memorials be directed to the “Live Wire” Senior Adult Choir in care of the Music Department, First Baptist Church, 2400 N. Josey Lane, Carrollton, TX 75006.
