Fredrieka "Freddie" Ellen (Roberson) Tittle's Obituary
Fredrieka passed peacefully with children present and beautiful songs of praise to her Lord playing with the most remarkable lyrics in time with her last breath and fading pulse. During 5 years and 4 months on hospice Fredrieka endeared herself to her caregivers with her affection, charm, kindness, wit and massages. She was 3 weeks short of her 95th birthday. In her life she performed energetically and remarkably as a wife, mother of 7, and in many roles in church and community, springing into service for family and friend, near and far. Fredrieka and husband Bill met at North Texas College, now University of North Texas, where Freddie earned her BFA, Bachelor of Fine Art degree. They traversed the country for several of Bill’s positions then moved to Dallas in 1957 for Bill’s professorship at Southern Methodist University, where she was a member in the University Women’s Club. They raised their children in the Highland Park School District and Highland Park United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. Later at Greenland Hills United Methodist Church she spent many more years of service in bible study leadership and more. She led Girl Scout troops and Cub Scout dens for her children. With the last child in school, Fredrieka worked for years at Arnold’s of Dallas, where she became a manager. She was in several news articles for her work in crafts and fabrics, utilizing her skills and interests from her art degree. Once the last child was in high school she became a residential real estate agent. For several years Freddie led her companies in sales contract production, developing a great reputation for repeat customers and referrals. She is preceded by her husband Charles William “Bill” Tittle, son Paul Allen Tittle, Sr., Grandson, Mark Christopher Tittle. Survived by 6 of her 7 children and 6 of 7 grandchildren and one great grandson. Saturday May 27th, Fredrieka’s open Memorial Celebration of Life is at 12:30 pm in Wildwood Chapel, followed by a reception at 1:30 pm. These are preceded by a private family burial ceremony. While Fredrieka dearly loved flowers she would also treasure any contribution to the endowment she initiated at Southern Methodist University in the memory of her beloved husband Bill, “The Charles W. (Bill) Tittle Physics Fund”. If elected, that contribution can be made either online or by check. Online will populate with the keywords “Tittle Physics” or a check directed to “Tittle, Physics” or in the endowment’s entire name written to “SMU GIFT ADMINISTRATION”, Southern Methodist University, P.O. Box 223927, Dallas TX 75222-9972.
