Gail Parker Dixon's Obituary
She was born Linda Gail Dixon on July 18, 1940 in Waxahachie, Texas and passed away December 23, 2015 in Dallas, TX. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Irene and Roscoe Parker. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jimmie C Dixon; her daughter, Elaine Rindahl Dixon; her son, David Dixon; sister-in-law, Betty Williams; nephews, Jeffrey and Kevin Williams; her grandchildren, Sadie and Ryder Rindhal; and daughter-in-law, Beata Koder. Gail graduated from Sunset High School in 1958, attended the University of Texas in Austin and then earned her education degree from North Texas State University in 1961. She worked as an art teacher in the Dallas Independent School District until retiring in 1968 to become a full-time, stay-at-home wife and mom. She was an avid painter and later returned to teach painting technique at the Richardson Senior Center. She belonged to the Texas Reelers Square Dance Club where she also contributed decorations to club events. Gail was well known for her giving and wise nature to those within her family and circle of friends. Family will receive friends at a visitation which will be held on Monday, January 4, 2016 from 6:00PM-8:00PM at Restland Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Restland Memorial Park in the garden of Gospel. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243. Memorials can be made to the American Heart Association.
