Lit a candle in memory of George Echerd
I met George through his dog Buddy @ Cottonwood Animal Hospital. We became very good friends. We chatted on a weekly basis. I was proud to call him my friend. Through our conversations we discovered we were both from little towns in Illinois. He had been to peoria on many occasions. I will miss George so much. RIP my dear friend. Your in great hands. God is good.

I have known George and his wife Mary for most of my 63 years of life. I grew up with Glenn, Mark and Diane and then later watched their families grow up. We have all spent the majority of our Christmas Eve's together and in more recent years I have been fortunate to have Christmas dinner with the Echerd family. I have always loved and respected George. I am so grateful that I saw him just over a week ago and that he was doing so well recovering from the terrible automobile accident he was in several months ago. George was always kind and goodhearted. I enjoyed the jokes and articles he sent me via email and I will always appreciate his help in locating a special Christmas present for my Mom a number of years ago. I will also never forget how my heart fell upon receiving the call from his son Mark telling me that his dad had been in an automobile accident. Fortunately George made a remarkable recovery from that accident and gave many of us and his family several more special months with him. George will be missed my me and many others here on earth but I also know he was greeted in heaven by many old friends including my dad, Bob, my Godfather, John, RB, Hal, and many others. My prayers and thoughts are with George's family as they go through this difficult time.
