Gil Ja Yi's Obituary
Gil Ja Yi went home to be with her heavenly Father on Monday, Aug 24th, after a year-long battle with leukemia. She passed peacefully surrounded by her family. And she was welcomed home by her late husband, Yong Ho, who went ahead of her in 2002.
She was born in South Korea on March 23, 1944, and immigrated to the US with her husband and 2 kids in 1982. She was a dedicated and hard-working mother, often working multiple jobs while raising her 2 kids. She is a long-time member of the Korean Young Nak Presbyterian Church in Plano who claims her as its own. She was a tireless servant in the church, and at one time was a missionary to Kazakhstan.
She is survived and dearly missed by her family which includes her son Min, daughter-in-law Munhui, daughter Judy, grandsons Nate and Lucas. Many members of her church family mourn her passing as well.
While we are sad to see her taken up, we know that there's is a celebration in heaven welcoming her home. To God be the glory!
