Glennalie Kelley's Obituary
KELLEY, GLENNALIE SCOTT, Joined her beloved husband Monday June 30, 2008. She was married to Clarence H. Kelley for fifty-one years. Mr. Kelley passed on March 22, 2008. Mrs. Kelley was born September 25, 1915 in Oklahoma City to the parents of Glen Otto Scott and Roseland Lee Wilday Scott. She had one sister and one brother. Although her name is Glennalie, everyone knew her as Scottie. After graduating from Classen High School in Oklahoma City in 1933, she became a professional ballroom dancer and danced at many country clubs and events in Oklahoma City. Her specialty dances were Fox Trot, Apache, Adagio, and Waltz. In 1934 she was 2nd in the Miss Oklahoma Pageant. She attended the University of Oklahoma. Her business career included experience in finance and insurance with W.R. Johnston & Co., Home Mortgage & Investment., and Home Savings Associations. She loved life and enjoyed traveling the world with her husband. They both enjoyed entertaining their friends. She was always a perfect hostess. As a hobby, she knitted dolls and loved to give them to her grandchildren and friends. Scottie was a long time member of the Lake Highlands United Methodist Church in Dallas, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence H. Kelley and sister, Vinita Florene Clarke. She is survived by: her daughter, Patti Palmer, husband Calvin and children Scott, Jennifer, Richie, Julie of Irving, TX, and Carolyn of Bonham, TX; son, Joe Kelley, wife Debbie and children Jonathan and Byron of Dallas, Texas; brother George Orlin Scott of Lake Oswego, Oregon; 12 great grand children and countless wonderful friends. Graveside services will be at Restland Memorial Park, Dallas, TX at 12:00pm Tuesday July 8th. Memorial services will be at Lake Highlands United Methodist Church, Dallas, TX at 2:00pm Tuesday July 8th. She is a woman who was loved by all and will never be forgotten.
