Harold Bishop's Obituary
Harold Bishop, 96, of Garland, Texas, died May 26, 2018 in Dallas, Texas from complications of Alzheimers. He was born on May 29, 1921, to Rubin Bishop and Dovie Bishop in Megargel, Texas. Harold married Dimple Mae Hendricks on October 27, 1949 in Dallas, Texas. He was in the grocery business for 40 years with Wyatts, Minyards, Kroger, and lastly Tom Thumb as a highly decorated store director. Harold served in the United States Army from July 1943 to January 1946 as a Staff Seargent – Medical Detachment.He is preceded in death by his son, Steven Ray Bishop; Brothers, D.L. and Estele Bishop; and sisters, Marie Gunnels and Jeannine Boren. Harold is survived by his wife of 68 years, Dimple Mae Bishop of Garland, Texas; daughter Gloria (Pat) McCormick of Garland, Texas; daughter in law, Cindy Bishop of Edmond, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Shannon McCormick, Amanda (Jared) Hunter, and Kelsey Bishop; and great grandchildren, Emma and Jack.A visitation will be from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 1st Baptist Church in Garland, Texas. Funeral service will follow at 10:30 AM at 1st Baptist Church.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, Texas 75243.
