Hazel Ruth Watkins' Obituary
HAZEL RUTH WATKINS was born in East Texas on July 12, 1934 to Elmer and Betty Blackwell and passed away on September 29, 2020 at the age of 86 in Wylie, Texas. Hazel resided in the Wylie – Liberty Grove area for the past 55 plus years. She is predeceased by her parents, her husband Tully Joe Watkins, brothers LD Blackwell and William Blackwell and sister Patsy Blackwell.
Hazel is survived by her son Billy Watkins and wife Renee, daughter Kathy Christman and husband Kevin, grandchildren Erin Christman, Jay Holloway and Marci Edwards and husband Brian, great grandchildren Makayla Edwards, Brooke Baugh and husband Dillon and two great-great grandchildren Bennet and Brayson. She is also survived by sisters Lucille Paris of Mesquite, TX, Clara Herrin and husband Lecil of Mt Pleasant, TX, sister-in-law Donna Tarrant of Farmersville, TX, sister-in-law Winona Blackwell of Paris, TX and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Hazel was a homemaker who enjoyed the outdoors, flowers, fishing and gardening. She loved her family and friends. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and a member of the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church which she attended until her declining health prevented her.
Grave side funeral service will be held in The Garden of Love at Restland Memorial Cemetery on Tuesday October 6, 2020 at 11:00 am.
