Hellen Null's Obituary
Wrapped in Jesus’ embrace, Hellen Louise Null (88) of Rockwall, Texas, left this Earth on October 17, 2024, after a brief battle with illness. She was loved and will be missed by many.
Hellen, Louise, Momma or Maw Maw Null as she was known within different groups, was born December 23, 1935, in Van Alstyne, Texas to Troy and Helen Wright. She was the eldest of six children. Hellen had a sense of humor and officially changed her birthday within the family to July 4th to not take away from Christmas.
At 18 years old, Hellen married and would eventually become the mother to eight children, four boys and four girls. Hellen worked tirelessly at multiple jobs to provide for her family after becoming a single parent in a time when that was not prevalent. In doing so, she instilled the value of families sticking together, helping each other and the importance of hard work. She settled into Quality Inspection for the last 30 years of her career, retiring from Cuplex Inc.
Hellen was as friendly as they come, with a quick Hi-dy to everyone she met. She was a lifelong Christian and the active secretary within her church, Spence Park Baptist Church in Balch Springs, since 1971. She loved to keep up with correspondence, and her family and friends still received birthday and holiday cards from her until her death. She had a love of traveling with friends and family. She attempted to take one vacation with each of her grandchildren while they were young. Her favorite place to visit was Branson, Missouri for country music and even joked that she was Minnie Pearl’s manager. She enjoyed painting, cake decorating, cooking and most of all, singing. Her skills and talents have been passed down within the generations and filled her with pride. Her paintings will be treasured.
Hellen had a big heart and an even bigger family: with her eight biological children, thirty one grandchildren, forty eight great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. She also unofficially adopted many more family members along the way. Her family always spent the major holidays with her, and when she moved to her last house, it was designed for large gatherings.
Hellen was welcomed into Heaven with the open arms of parents, Troy and Helen Wright, sister, Neda Threet, son, Randy Null, son-in-law, Lee Nichols, grandson, Troy Nichols, granddaughter, Jodi Bogle, great grandson, David Carpenter, III, great granddaughter, Masey Carpenter and great grandson Ezekiel Sanchez. She has left behind her children-Jimmy (Sue) Null, Darlene Nichols, Ricky (Carla) Null, Pam Null, Jackie (Gail) Null, Donna (David) Carpenter and Debbie (Jimmy) Winkle, her siblings Opal Aldridge, Bobby (Mary) Wright, Ken (Susie) Wright, Gary (Net) Wright along with the ones she “adopted” and loved Gary and Net Wright, Eugene Williams, Sharon Moss, Linda Davis, Marie Perry, and Pam Hall
Visitation will be held at The Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas, October 25, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. with the funeral immediately following at 10:30 a.m. The Final Rites and Burial Service will be conducted at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Rockwall, Texas October 25, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. There will be a meal gathering following the funeral service and before the final burial at Hellen’s home in Rockwall, Texas.
