Howard Roy Harris 's Obituary
Howard Roy Harris was born on May 6, 1930 in Celina, TX. Surrounded by his family, he passed away peacefully on the family ranch in Bartley Woods on May 3, 2020. The service for Howard Harris will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home.
Howard married Reba Pearl O’Neal, his high school sweetheart, on November 16, 1950, beginning a journey together that would span over six decades. After successful careers in the city, the two “retired” to their ranch in the country where they built their dream home. Howard had a grand vision when he initially purchased the land for the ranch. Over the next 50 years, he worked from dawn to dusk to produce a majestic place where the entire family can gather and be home. He enjoyed gardening and raising his cows, chickens and pigeons.
Howard is survived by brother in law, John W. O’Neal of Richardson, TX; daughter, Kathy Keating and husband, John of Allen, TX; daughter, Karren Crunk and husband, Bill of Bartley Woods, TX; granddaughter, Melanie Biggers and husband, Bart of Highland Park, TX; granddaughter, April Prevost and husband, Patrick of Fort Worth, TX; grandson, Casey Keating and wife, Julie of Dallas, TX; grandson, Wesley and wife, Jennifer of Bartley Woods, TX and seven great-grandchilden, Brooks and Banks Biggers, Ellery and Finley Prevost and Lila, Beau and Chloe Crunk.
Honorary Pallbearers include: John O’Neal, Glen Bailey, Gene Peoples, Glen Grisham, David Harris and Mark Harris.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Dodd City Community Seniors Lunch Program, 205 E. 3rd, Dodd City, TX 75438, Windom SNAP Center C/O Diane Sivley, PO Box 1018, Windom, TX 76492, the American Heart Association or your charity of choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
