Mrs. Idabel Etchieson's Obituary
ETCHIESON, IDABELL NEWMAN, of Dallas, passed away in the early morning hours of April 16, 2007 in Dallas. Mrs. Etchieson was born in MeLean, TX on December 14, 1913. She married William S. “Etch” Etchieson on March 23, 1939 in Pampa, TX. She received her B. S. Degree from West Texas State University and then taught school for six years in McLean and fifteen years in Borger, TX. The Etchieson’s moved to Dallas in 1982 where they spent the remainder of their 65 years together. Mrs. Etchieson was a member of the Prestoncrest Church of Christ in Dallas. Idabell is survived by one brother, Kelly G. Newman and ten nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, “Etch”, on November 18, 2004 and by ten brothers and sisters. The family wishes to express a sincere and gracious appreciation to Idabell’s caregivers who faithfully and lovingly took care of Idabell and “Etch”: Josephine Elam, Linda Sterling, Shalonda Gilmore, Betty Jones, Mildred Neal, and Lois Armstrong. Services will be held at Restland’s Wildwood Chapel on Thursday, April 19, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. Visitation will be held from 6:00 ‘ 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at Restland.
