Inez Laverne Stanley's Obituary
STANLEY, INEZ LAVERNE DOUGLAS peacefully passed into the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and her husband, Martin Stanley on Monday, December 9, 2013. Laverne was born in Rosenberg, Texas on November 24, 1931. She is survived by her two sons, Charles and Paul, her sister, Paulette Douglas and her two precious granddaughters, Katie Stanley and Whitney Stanley. Laverne grew up in Dallas and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1949. That same year, she met and married her husband, Martin Stanley and remained with him until his death in 2003. While she worked for a number of companies in her lifetime, most of her career was with Collins Radio. After Collins Radio was acquired by Rockwell, she worked with Rockwell until her retirement in 1989. After her retirement, she worked with the Texas Commissioner for the Blind until 2004. Laverne was a member of the Jonathan Class at Orchard Hills Baptist Church. The family is grateful for her many friends who prayed for her during her recent hospital stay. Funeral services will be held at 9:30AM, Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Restland Abbey Chapel with visitation 1 hour prior to the service in the chapel. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, that friends make donations to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation in her name, 230 E. Ohio St., Chicago, IL 60611.
