Irven Lee Miler's Obituary
Irven Miller passed away to be with our Lord and Savior on October 13, 2021 surrounded by loved ones in Dallas, TX. He was born on May 8, 1925 in Stroud. Ok. He was a pioneer in the printing industry and the owner of Printers Bindery for 30 years. He received numerous acclamations during his career but very proud of serving as President of OK Chapter of Printing Industries of America and receiving the Ben Franklin Award ('96) and Mr. Craftsman ('63)! He served in WWII building airstrips in the South Pacific.
Irven and Marvel enjoyed traveling to various places in the world and particularly enjoyed their traveling adventures with their Rolling Okie friends. He was an avid golfer and fisherman. He loved his Lord and Savior and showed Christ's love by being the best Husband, Father, Grandfather, Uncle, and friend. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. His was a very kind and compassionate human being whose greatest joy was helping others in need.
He was married for 66 yrs to his best friend, Marvel (Becker). They were members of Sunnylane Methodist Church in Del City since 1960 and he served in many leadership roles throughout his life. Preceded in death by his wife, Marvel; parents, Paulus and Ethel Miller; brothers J.R., Bill, Marlon, Floyd, Lonnie and a sister, Veda.
He is survived by one brother, Willard Miller (Del City), his three children, Lynda Garrett and husband Jim (Denton, TX), Sherry Andrus (Dallas, TX), and Bob Miller and wife Kelley (Norman, OK). Four grandchildren, Brian Garrett and wife Zsuzsa (Plano, TX); Bradley Garrett and wife Krista (Groveland, FL); April Fisher and husband Derek (Moore, OK); Lane Miller (Oklahoma City, OK). Four Great-Grandchildren, Haley and Jillian Garret; Lincoln and Foster Fisher. Also numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved greatly. One Brother, Willard Miller (Del City); Sister-in-Law Carolyn Miller (Del City), and Brother-in-law, Roy Becker and wife Carol (Oklahoma City).
Graveside services will be at 10:00am on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Sunny Lane Cemetery followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00am at Sunny Lane United Methodist Church in Del City, OK.
