J. C. Samples' Obituary
JC Samples, 92, a native of Whitewright, Texas and resident of Mesquite, Texas for 49 years passed away peacefully on September 12, 2017 at home with his wife and daughter by his side.He proudly served in the U.S. Naval Service. After being honorably discharged, he worked as an off-set printer for 30+ years. After leaving printing, he worked as a security guard for Texas Instruments until he was 85.JC is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Kathryn, by daughter Twila Durrett and husband Ken of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, daughter Sharon Jarriel and husband Johnny of Okeechobee, Florida, and daughter Pam Frantz and husband Monty of Mesquite, Texas. He has eight grandchildren Cathy Stewart, and her husband Don, Kimberly Espinosa and her husband Geoffrey, John Jarriel and his wife Jenn, David Jarriel and his wife Jennifer, Rebecca McKim and her husband Zack, Jessica Bradshaw and her husband Colton, Tyler Frantz and his wife Britany, and Joy Jarriel. Kathryn and JC have 14 great-grandchildren (and one more on the way).The visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday September 15, 2017 at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 2:00 pm, Calvary Hill Baptist Church, 3300 La Prada, Mesquite, Texas.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to Calvary Hill Baptist Church.
