Jacel Marie Kissel's Obituary
Jacel Marie Burks Kissel, a woman of noble character, was born on December 1, 1929 in San Angelo, Texas and passed away on November 9, 2015. For 85 years family and friends considered themselves exceedingly blessed for having been part of her most wonderful and most beautiful life. She was a woman known by many names. Her children affectionately called her Mom, Momma, Grandmother, and mother-in-law. Her loving and devoted husband of more than 21 years adoringly called her My darlin’. We all loved her dearly, and she dearly loved us all. She was a lady through and through. She was as much at home in the opera as she was digging in the black soil of Texas. She never settled for second in her life. She traveled the world, she mastered motherhood, and then she mastered in education at the University of North Texas going on to work for, and retire with, the Dallas Independent School District serving as the librarian for Carter High School. She never accepted less than the best for her family and herself. She could, and did, do anything she set her mind to from cooking, to gardening, to creating a masterpiece wedding dress for her daughter. She gave her best and gave her all for her family…except Monday nights which belonged to her and Dancing with the Stars! She was faithful to her family, hopeful in life, loving to all. Faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these was love. The service for Jacel Kissel will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 3:00 PM in The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
