Jack Clifford Anderson's Obituary
Jack Clifford Anderson of Lockhart, TX passed away on January 26, 2015. Jack was born November 14, 1922 in Dallas, Texas. He attended school in Dallas and then high school in Hinsdale, IL. After graduation from high school he attended the University of Wisconsin and studied agriculture. Jack farmed in Round Rock, TX and later operated a large ranch in western Montana. He built and opened Jack Anderson Motors, the Ford dealership, in Elgin, TX in 1955 and later sold the business in 1971. Afterwards he then went into real estate investments and built modular horse barns throughout Texas. He is admired for his faith, love for his family, wisdom and sense of humor. His heritage to his children wasn’t words or possessions but an unspoken treasure, the treasure of his example as a man and a father. Jack is survived by his daughter Helen Anderson Detert of St. Ignatius, Montana & his son Jack W. Anderson of Lockhart, TX; five very special grandchildren & eleven great grandchildren; his brother, Lawrence Anderson of Lyndale, TX; his sister, Dorothy Osborn of Culver, IN; his devoted niece Kathryn Huber & husband Jim of Austin, TX & many more nieces & nephews he adored. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; Frank and Katherine Anderson and sisters Edyth Gunther & Marie Axline. We are grateful for his ever faithful & dedicated caretaker of 30 years, Lucio (Luther) Martinez. The funeral service for Jack will be at 12:30 PM on Thursday, January 29, 2015 in The Wilodwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior. Memorial contributions can be made to Austin Hospice, 4107 Spicewood Springs Road Ste. 100, Austin, TX 78759 A celebration of life will be held Saturday, January 31st at 6:00pm at the family ranch, 1087 Seawillow Rd, Lockhart, TX.
