Jack Hulen Hooker's Obituary
Jack Hulen Hooker was born on September 21, 1947 in New York City. His parents were Claude L. Hooker Sr. of Albany, Texas and Etta Marie Bartels of San Antonio, Texas. He had three brothers: Claude Jr., Donald (died in 2015), and Kenneth.
As the child of a career military officer, Jack lived and attended school in a variety of locales, including New York City, Japan, San Antonio, Dayton, Ohio, Poitier, France, and Orleans, France, where he graduated from High School.
He attended the University of Texas in Austin, graduating with a B.A. in English.
After graduation, he lived in Austin, Texas, San Francisco, California, and Washington D.C., before finally settling in Dallas, Texas. For many years, he worked in the IT/Medical Records Department at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, before retiring.
His interests included reading, especially mysteries, foreign films, Art, Art Deco style, and Classical music.
Jack died on December 13, 2023.
