Jacqueline Ruth Jensen's Obituary
Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, Jacqueline Ruth Hansen Jensen, of Dallas, TX, died peacefully in the afternoon on December 10th, 2024, from old age and finally, pneumonia. She endured her life’s joys and challenges with faith and tenacity. She served and cared for many along her way. Jacquie was born on August 26th, 1938, to Noel Jorgen Hansen and Thelma June Edgington Hansen. She has two younger brothers, Steven and Wayne Hansen.
Jacquie graduated from South High School in Salt Lake City in 1956, worked as a stenographer for the Union Pacific Railroad, and a fur coat and hand model in her young adult years. Jacquie married Albert Gaylan Jensen for time and all eternity on April 22, 1960, in the Salt Lake City Temple, and they celebrated 55 years together. They have three children and eight grandchildren.
Jacquie was a talented musician and dancer. She had a particular passion for playing piano, and teaching piano and ballroom dance. She trained in piano for 41 years and dedicated over 60 years to teaching hundreds of students, offering inexpensive and often complementary lessons, in order to give as many people the opportunity to learn to play the piano as possible. She trained in ballroom dance as a young adult, dancing and instructing for over 60 years. Her talents and teachings greatly enriched the lives of her children, grandchildren, and her community.
Jacqueline lived a wonderful, full life filled with love for her family and friends. She was generous, intelligent, resourceful, encouraging, and devoted. She loved to learn and develop hobbies in her later adult years. Examples included learning Spanish, tennis, and receiving an associate’s degree in 1986. Jacquie lived an active lifestyle, and she and her husband enjoyed traveling, visiting over 35 places in the world.
Jacquie was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and her faith provided her with comfort throughout her life. She knew families can be together forever. Her greatest joys were with her family, and she spent countless hours teaching, encouraging and supporting her children and grandchildren. Many of her last words to her family members expressed simple wishes for them to love, to be good, and to have happiness. We will miss her dearly.
Jacquie was preceded in death by her husband Albert Jensen, and brother Wayne Hansen. She is survived by her brother, Steve Hansen, and two sons, Mark (Susan) Jensen and Douglas (Cherié) Jensen, and one daughter Kim (Joel) Adair, and eight grandchildren: Victoria and Mark Jensen (Mark and Susan), Liberty Jensen (Doug and Cherié), and Samantha, Madeline (Michael), Sariah (Chris), Nathan, and Sophia Adair (Kim and Joel).
